This incredibly versatile instrument can be used as a tubano-like drum, a hand drum, and a storage space! The 18.5″ shell is ultra-light and synthetic, meaning that it will never crack or warp because of humidity. The 9.5″ head is also synthetic, which affords it the same weather resistance.

The most unique feature of the head is the fact that it maintains its own tension, and can be completely removed from the shell – effectively becoming a hand drum similar to a Brazilian repinique. The now empty shell can then be used to hold other small accessory instruments, and numerous Kalani Flex Drums can be stacked within each other.

Carry around an entire drum circle’s worth of instruments under two arms! Each Flex Drum includes an adjustable shoulder strap and a protective, non-slip rubber bottom.

This Flex Drum has a colorful Kente Cloth finish, and its small stature makes it a great candidate for early music education.
