When the original Gibson J-45 was first introduced in 1942, nicknamed “The Workhouse”, quickly became popular as an instrument with an iconic voice and quality construction. The sloped shoulder dreadnought body shape is constructed from solid mahogany and Sitka spruce woods for that classic Gibson acoustic sound.
